Strelitzia (Bird of Paradise) — Fire Orange & Violet

This artificial Bird of Paradise comes in Fire Orange and Violet. The bloom combines orange blades with a vivid sunshine yellow undertone and contrasting violet blades, reflecting the striking colour combination found in the natural flower. The bloom rises from a boat shaped spathe that shifts from dusty olive green to grey violet, with an orange flush near the base. 

Long pointed blades open from one side of the spathe. The wired segmented stem can be curved by hand to adjust the direction of the bloom and the overall line of the stem.

A single stem suits a tall cylinder or floor vase. Two stems can be arranged as a pair in an entry display, while three create a fuller upright group.

Design notes:

A tall clear glass cylinder shows the full segmented stem and suits a single flower. Matte charcoal ceramic gives the orange blades a darker background. Smoked violet glass repeats the colour of the crest and suits a group of two or three stems. Vases around 45 to 70 cm high suit the length of the stems.

For a neutral palette, combine Fire Orange and Violet with warm stone, sand or soft taupe. Midnight blue, deep green and charcoal provide a stronger contrast. Rust, terracotta and aubergine continue the warm orange and violet colour range.

Roses add rounded flower shapes beside the pointed blades. Hydrangea adds volume around the base. Calla lilies introduce a longer curved form beside the angular Bird of Paradise bloom.
