King Protea — Cinnabar Red

This artificial King Protea comes in Cinnabar Red. The flower head has a bold botanical form, with details modelled on the structure of a fresh protea. Cinnabar red is the main colour, layered with brick red, terracotta, rust and deep green. Larger outer bracts hold the bloom open, while the layered centre adds weight and volume. Some bract edges deepen to brown, echoing the natural ageing and drying seen on mature protea. Narrow pointed bracts sit beneath the flower head and add another layer around the base.

For a single stem, use a medium weighted vase to support the flower. A lighter vase can also work if extra support is added inside. Stone and matte ceramic finishes suit the earthy colours, while a natural stone object placed nearby can continue the same palette through the display.

When using several stems, place the King Protea through the lower or middle section as the main focal flower. Build smaller blooms and line flowers around it for a native inspired arrangement. Leave enough space between the Protea heads and the surrounding foliage so the crowns remain distinct.

Design notes

A smoked bronze glass vase places Cinnabar Red beside a warm metallic tint. Charcoal clay provides a dark matte base. A raw concrete vessel adds a pale mineral surface beneath the bloom.

Pair Cinnabar Red with putty, warm stone or mushroom. Coral, terracotta and saffron continue the warm red and orange range. Deep teal, indigo slate and carbon provide stronger contrast.

Eucalyptus pods can sit between the larger blooms and continue the dry rounded forms. Leucadendron repeats the layered crown shape at a smaller scale. Heliconia extends below or beside the Protea with a longer curved line. Cymbidium orchids introduce smaller cupped blooms between the larger flower heads.
