Gracious Hydrangea — Fallen Leaf

This artificial hydrangea comes in Fallen Leaf. The petal faces carry a mix of wheat and tobacco brown, while the reverse has a smoky yellow olive tone. These colours give the flower head the varied appearance of autumn leaves. The rounded flower head is formed from many small florets. Broad veined leaves sit below and between the flowers and can be removed from the stem.

For a single stem, use a low or medium height round vase and keep the flower head just above the rim. Leave the leaves lower on the stem, or remove them so the flower head can echo the shape of the vase.

In a mixed arrangement, place the hydrangea through the lower and middle sections to increase volume beneath taller line flowers and fill the spaces between larger focal blooms.

Design notes

A smoked amber glass vase continues the tobacco and tea brown tones. An antique brass vessel brings a warmer metallic surface beneath the flower head. A slate concrete cylinder places the olive and brown florets against a cooler mineral background.

Pair Fallen Leaf with tobacco, stone or cocoa. Olive, moss and loden continue the green and brown range. Ivory, pale blush and indigo provide clearer contrast.

Phalaenopsis orchids bring broader open flowers above the hydrangea. English roses add layered rosette forms, while classic roses introduce smaller rounded blooms through the middle. Gloriosa lilies extend towards the sides with curved petals. Tulips add upright closed flower forms between the broader clusters.
