Hydrangea — After Rain Blue White

This artificial hydrangea comes in After Rain Blue White. Soft blue petals with faint grey blue shading sit among clean white petals across the flower head. The rounded flower head is formed from many small florets. Two broad veined leaves sit beneath the flowers, framing the base of the cluster and bringing green into the stem.

For a single stem, use a small low vase and let the flower head cover the rim. This keeps the florets as the main focus of the display.

In a mixed arrangement, place the hydrangea through the lower or middle section to increase volume and frame the focal flowers. It can sit beneath taller line flowers and fill smaller gaps around the main blooms.

Design notes

A pale celadon vase continues the soft blue and green tones. Brushed aluminium places the flower beside a cool metallic surface. A sandstone vase introduces a warmer mineral base.

Pair After Rain Blue White with cloud white, pebble or soft silver. Powder blue, slate and soft lilac continue the cool colour range. Marigold, olive and charcoal provide stronger contrast.

Phalaenopsis orchids introduce broader open flowers above or beside the hydrangea. Roses add larger layered blooms through the middle. Oncidium orchids bring smaller branching flowers, while poppies add open flower heads around the cluster.
