Peony — Apricot Cream

This artificial peony comes in Apricot Cream. Each stem carries one fully open bloom and one closed bud. Dense layers of pale apricot petals form the open flower, with a creamy undertone and ruffled edges gathered around a tighter centre. The smaller bud shows an earlier stage of flowering beside the main bloom, while dark green leaves sit beneath the flowers.

For a single stem, use a small round vase for a bedside display. Keep the open bloom just above the rim, or position it so the flower head partly covers the vase rim. Place the bud a little higher or to one side so the two flowering stages sit on different lines and remain clearly visible.

When using several stems, stagger the flower heads at different heights and angles so the larger blooms do not sit in one flat row. Let some stems lean towards the left or right to form a looser, fuller arrangement. In a mixed arrangement, place the peonies through the main focal area, then add a few line flowers to bring height, balance and rhythm to the design.

Design notes

Clear glass keeps the apricot and cream tones visible. Chalk porcelain provides a pale matte base, while pale travertine continues the warm neutral palette.

Pair Apricot Cream with bone, oatmeal or dove grey. Petal pink, peach and soft coral continue the warm colour range. Bottle green, charcoal and midnight navy provide stronger contrast.

English garden roses add broader layered blooms around the peonies. Cymbidium orchids introduce smaller cupped flowers between the larger heads. Bird of Paradise adds a sharper upright form, while sunflowers bring a broad round flower face.
