Hazy Dream Hydrangea — Soft Blue Violet

This artificial hydrangea comes in Soft Blue Violet. The florets combine mist blue and soft lilac over a milk white base. Small touches of butter yellow appear at a few petal tips. The rounded flower head is formed from many small florets. Broad veined leaves sit below and between the flowers. The botanical stem is mostly straight, with a natural curve and distinct nodes.

For a single stem, use a medium height round vase and keep the curved section of the botanical stem above the opening. The exposed curve creates a clear line between the rounded flower head and the vase.

In a mixed arrangement, place the hydrangea through the lower and middle sections to increase volume beneath taller line flowers and fill the spaces between larger focal blooms.

Design notes

A dove marble vessel places Soft Blue Violet beside a cool stone surface. Ribbed opaline glass continues the pale blue and white tones. An ash wood vase introduces a warmer natural base.

Pair Soft Blue Violet with cloud white, chalk or pale grey. Periwinkle, soft lilac and slate continue the blue and violet range. Saffron, terracotta and pine green provide stronger contrast.

Cymbidium orchids introduce smaller cupped flowers aroundolus and delphinium extend above the rounded cluster.
