Iris — Lavender Purple

This artificial iris comes in Lavender Purple. The open bloom is light purple, with a pale butter yellow wash at the base of the outer petals near the throat.Each stem carries one open flower and one closed side bud. The outer petals sweep outward, while the inner petals stand upright. Long sword shaped leaves wrap the lower stem.

For a single stem, use a short vase with a narrow opening. A wider vase can also be used if the stem is supported inside the vessel. Keep the bloom and bud above the rim, and position the bud close to the main flower so both stages follow the same line. This creates a narrow linear arrangement without taking up much width.

When using several stems, vary their height and place the open blooms through the centre or back, with the side buds continuing the shape around the upper edge. A few stems can also be arranged in parallel at different heights to form an elongated table arrangement.

Design notes

Pale stoneware places Lavender Purple against a warm matte surface. Frosted lilac glass continues the purple range, while a matte pewter vase introduces a cooler metallic base.

Pair Lavender Purple with cloud white, pebble or mushroom. Lilac, periwinkle and soft blue continue the related colour range. Mustard, forest green and charcoal provide stronger contrast.

Roses introduce broader layered blooms beneath the iris. Hydrangea can fill the lower section and increase volume. Calla lilies add longer curved lines, while gladiolus extends the arrangement through the centre or back.
