Eucalyptus — Dusty Rose Red

This artificial eucalyptus comes in Dusty Rose Red. Each stem divides into three branches, with one longer branch and two shorter branches at the sides. Round matte leaves sit along the branches in varied sizes, with clear gaps between them.

For a foliage only arrangement, turn the two shorter branches away from the longer branch so the round leaves sit across different parts of the arrangement. This uses its branch lengths to create height through the centre and width around the vase.

When combining it with flowers, place the eucalyptus behind or between the main blooms. Vary the stem heights and turn the branches outward to aviod covering flowers. Use the longer branches to carry the arrangement upward, then direct the shorter branches towards the sides to move the Dusty Rose Red colour through the arrangement.

Design notes

A clear smoke glass vase keeps the stem and branching structure in view and places the dusty rose leaves against a cool grey tint. A warm ivory ceramic vase provides a pale matte background. A dark bronze vessel places the plum shadows beside a deeper metallic surface.

Pair Dusty Rose Red with oat, stone or soft taupe for a muted neutral palette. Rosewater, blush and mauve continue the pink and rose colour range. Deep olive, charcoal and ink black provide stronger contrast.

Roses can sit lower in the arrangement and repeat the rose colour with larger flower heads. Calla lilies bring longer lines through the round leaves. Ranunculus repeats the circular forms with compact layered blooms. Green eucalyptus can be placed between the Dusty Rose Red stems to separate the coloured foliage with natural green.
