Trailing Arc Phalaenopsis Orchid (Seven Blooms) — Merlot Red

This trailing artificial Phalaenopsis orchid comes in Merlot Red and carries seven blooms along a long slender stem. The petals are deep wine red with cool undertones and darker colour through the flower. The flower faces turn at different points along a shallow arc, with small buds near the tip.

The stem contains wire and can be shaped by hand to hold a loose fall or a more upright curve. Its developed length suits different sized vases. It creates a clear trailing shape over the rim while keeping the drop shorter and easier to place on a console or dining table.

A single stem can fall over the rim of a medium or tall vase, or sit in a simple Zen style vessel. Two or three stems create a fuller trailing group for console displays, dining tables or placement near a mirror. Five or more stems suit larger arrangements.

Design notes

Smoked graphite glass gives the deep wine red a darker background. Matte alabaster porcelain provides a pale contrast beside the flowers. An oil rubbed metal vessel adds a dark metallic surface and suits a deeper colour palette.

For a neutral palette, combine Merlot Red with chalk, warm taupe or mushroom grey. Mulberry, plum and rosewood continue the red and purple colour range. Sage, peacock teal and slate provide a stronger contrast.

Gladiolus adds height to the arrangement. Stock flower builds volume around the orchid. Roses introduce fuller rounded blooms, while gloriosa lily brings a more open curved flower shape.
