Skimmia Bud Ball (Fernleaf Edit) — Olive Russet Bicolour

This artificial Skimmia Bud Ball set includes three stems in Olive Russet Bicolour. The rounded bud clusters move from olive green into russet brown, with soft red tones across the surface. Each dome is formed from many small trumpet shaped buds radiating from the centre.

Deep green fern like leaves spread beneath the bud balls, replacing the usual glossy lance shaped foliage and keeping the rounded clusters clearly visible.

For a single stem, use a small vase or pot and keep the bud ball just above the rim. It can also be added to a Christmas garland or placed between larger flowers as an earthy rounded accent.

When arranging all three stems together, vary their height and turn the bud balls in different directions to form a compact group. For a low centrepiece, place the stems through the middle and allow the fern like leaves to spread around the base.

Design notes

Burnished bronze continues the russet warmth. Smoked graphite glass provides a darker base, while pale travertine brings out the olive tones. Charcoal concrete suits a more neutral display.

Pair Olive Russet Bicolour with bone, oatmeal or mushroom grey. Claret, pine green and midnight blue continue the deeper colour range. Sage and eucalyptus green connect with the olive side of the buds.

Roses add broader layered blooms beside the bud balls. Hydrangea introduces a larger clustered form, while gerberas add round flower heads at a wider scale. Cattleya orchids bring open petals between the compact domes.
