Graceful Hydrangea — Cobalt Violet

This artificial hydrangea comes in Cobalt Violet. Fine slate veins run through the petals, and pale buttercream stamens are scattered across the cluster. The rounded flower head is formed from many small florets. Broad veined leaves sit below and between the flowers and can be removed from the stem.

For a single stem, use a low or medium height round vase and keep the flower head just above the rim. Leave the leaves lower on the stem, or remove them so the rounded flower head echoes the shape of the vase.

In a mixed arrangement, place the hydrangea through the lower and middle sections to increase volume beneath taller line flowers and fill the spaces between larger focal blooms without covering their flower faces.

Design notes

An ash marble bowl places the violet flower head beside a cool stone surface. A matte indigo ceramic vase continues the deeper blue tones. A brushed pewter vessel brings a muted metallic finish beneath the cluster.

Pair Cobalt Violet with ash, stone or fog for a cool neutral palette. Indigo, midnight blue and steel continue the blue and violet range. Soft peach, warm brass and moss provide warmer contrast.

Roses add larger layered blooms around the hydrangea. Gerberas introduce flatter round flower heads. Cattleya orchids bring broader open flowers, while Phalaenopsis orchids extend the arrangement with a longer curved line.
