Heliconia (Trailing) — Porcelain Blush

This artificial Heliconia comes in Porcelain Blush. Pointed bracts sit in tiers along the trailing stem, each opening away from the central line. The bracts are pale blush pink, with green at the tips. Small hanging stamens sit beneath several bracts.

For a single stem, use a tall vase and let the trailing section fall over the rim. Turn the stem so the bracts open towards the main viewing side, with the tip hanging clear of the vase.

When using several stems, let some stems fall through the centre and guide others towards the sides. The repeated bracts build a fuller cascade and carry Porcelain Blush from the vase opening to the lower edge of the arrangement.

Design notes:

A tall clear crystal cylinder leaves the long trailing section exposed. Chalk porcelain continues the pale colour of the bracts. A brushed brass pedestal vase places the blush pink beside a warmer metallic surface.

Pair Porcelain Blush with pearl, greige or soft mushroom. Ballet pink, rose quartz and ripe peach continue the pink colour range. Moss green, petrol blue and charcoal provide stronger contrast.

Phalaenopsis orchids introduce wider open flowers through the trailing stems. Roses can sit closer to the vase to increase volume around the upper section. Iris adds a narrow upright line beside the curved bracts.
