Hydrangea Petal Cluster Spray — Terracotta Brown

This artificial hydrangea spray comes in Terracotta Brown. The florets combine burnt clay and cacao, with a faint copper cast along the edges and black stamens at the centre. Three small flower clusters sit at different points along the branched stem. Broad veined leaves sit below the flower heads, filling the lower part of the spray and giving the clusters a firmer base.

For a single spray, use a small rectangular vase and bend the branches in different directions so the three clusters spread across the front and sides.

When using several sprays, place the lower clusters between larger focal flowers so they sit behind and around the main blooms. Use the upper clusters to connect the focal flowers with taller line flowers.

Design notes

A cream stoneware vase places the terracotta flowers against a pale matte surface. Smoked amber glass continues the copper tones. A dark bronze vessel adds a deeper metallic base.

Pair Terracotta Brown with ivory, oat or sandstone. Rust, clay and cinnamon continue the terracotta colour range. Deep olive, ink navy and charcoal provide stronger contrast.

Tulips add upright closed forms between the branching flower heads. Vanda orchids introduce broader patterned blooms through the middle. Sunflowers can sit lower as larger round focal flowers, with the smaller hydrangea clusters extending around them.
